One of the most difficult things to deal with is when a loved one is feeling down. We want to help them feel better but may not know what to do. Luckily, there are ways to make ourselves and others feel better with easy, fast, and inexpensive methods.
And since our personalities are influenced by astrology, it can be helpful to know someone’s personality before deciding on a method for how to boost the mood of each zodiac sign. What may work on a Taurus might not work on a Pisces.
When we know what can help boost our own moods, we know what to go for straight away. Sometimes you don’t want to experiment on several different methods because it can get annoying, and instead of making you feel better, it can make you feel a little worse.
There are also times when it might take a combination of things to make you or someone else perk up. It could be getting a massage after taking a walk in nature, or listening to music while cleaning out your bookcase. But the best thing any of us can do to boost our mood is to reach out to a friend and talk about what’s happening in our lives.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
Want to cheer up an Aries? Then do something spontaneous and new. Invite them to try that new restaurant or treat them to a treadmill class.
It doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated, just something Aries has never done before. This will help inspire Aries, get them excited about things, and awaken their creativity.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Taurus are very connected to their senses, so if you want to lift their spirits, buy them flowers, give them a hug, or cook them a delicious meal. Let them feel loved and pampered and Taurus should start to feel lighter and happier.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
Geminis love to be around people and connect through conversation. If your Gemini is a bit down in the dumps, take them out for a beverage and catch up, or organize a group dinner (not too big) so there are a few people for them to talk to.
Sometimes, just being able to express their thoughts and feel heard is all they need to feel more like themselves.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
When Cancers connect with nature, they immediately feel better. So, if you want to boost their spirits, take them on a hike, go to the beach, or just go to your local park.
They love to be at home, but sometimes it’s good for them to get out of the house, breathe some fresh air, listen to the sounds of nature, and do something outdoors.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
One thing that helps make Leo feel better is to be reminded of how incredible they are and how much people like them. It can be as simple as looking through some old photos, or taking them to a bar or show where they can turn on the Leo charm.
An ego boost goes a long way to help restore Leo’s confidence. Since you probably can’t arrange a tribute show or a parade in their honor, helping them to write out a list of all their good qualities and what they have to be grateful for will work too.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Virgos sometimes come off as a little too serious and critical, so the best thing you can do to lift their spirits is to make them laugh. Go to a comedy club, a storytelling show, or watch a funny movie.
In fact, the sillier and more low-brow humor, the better. Laughing will help Virgo relax and lighten up a bit.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Libras love beautiful things, and that is especially true when it comes to home furnishing. If you want to boost their mood, give them a gift for the home like cute throw pillows, art, a terrific smelling candle, or a cool coffee table book.
Think of it as a combination pick-me-up and house-warming gift, even if they’ve lived in the same place for years. Give them something they can feast their eyes on and think of you and how you care every time they look at it.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
One thing everyone should know about Scorpios is that they make great friends — they’re loyal, thoughtful, and are always there when you need them. When they’re feeling kind of down, be the kind of friend Scorpio is and show them how much you care.
Reach out to them and ask them what they need to feel better, and if they have no answer, get some wine or ice cream and share it with them.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
The best thing to do to lift Sagittarius’ spirits is to change their location, even if it’s just for an afternoon or a weekend. Take a road trip together or get one of those discount fares and go somewhere you’ve both never been.
Like Aries, Sagittarius individuals respond very well to new people, experiences, cultures, and places. When they travel, they get happy. Feeling as if they’re stuck in one place will only make Sagittarius sink deeper into a bad mood.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
Capricorns have a difficult time being selfish and/or cutting loose, so do something fun and help them to feel like a kid again. Go to an amusement park and ride all the rides, no matter how silly they are; spend time in an arcade, or go to a carnival.
Do whatever you can to help Capricorn connect with their inner child and not feel overwhelmed by their responsibilities and duties. Whatever Capricorn secretly loves to do, and it’s legal, encourage them to do it.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Aquarians live to help people and make the world a better place, so your answer to how to make them feel better falls along those lines. Encourage Aquarius to do a good deed or two. Perhaps the two of you could volunteer for a charity or donate some items to a shelter.
It doesn’t have to be a huge gesture; even paying for the person behind you at the drive-in will work to lift Aquarius’ spirits, and it may also improve the outlook of the person or group that you helped.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
Anything having to do with art and creativity is going to make Pisces feel better. Take them dancing, look at the art at a museum, go to the theater or a cooking class. Get Pisces out of bed, into the world, and inspired.
If it helps Pisces tap into their own imagination, even better. Let them know how much you support their dreams and how you believe in them.
