The Devil and the 8 of Pentacles

I want to start off with the questions the cards are asking us this week. They want us to ponder our labor and work. They want us to think about our level of fulfillment and freedom when it comes to our work.

The cards ask: How do you spend your time and what do you do to support your life? Do you feel free to change and grow? Or do you feel trapped and stagnant?

We have a Full Moon this week and questions of fulfillment and how we show up will come to the surface. These questions will come from the Moon in Aquarius but also from the 8 of Pentacles.

This card calls us to think about how we support our lives. What we do to pay the bills and potentially what we do to make ourselves and the world better and brighter.

Is your work self-renewing and self-strengthening? Do you positively contribute through your labor?

If the answer is no, ask yourself what you can change. Look into where you feel positive in your life. Can you grow that area? Can you incorporate more of that into your work?

The 8 of Pentacles reminds us that the fruits of labor are important but labor itself is equally important. How do you want to spend your time? Are you living in accordance with your passions and morals?

Take time to think about these questions this week. See if you can take some steps towards balance with your work life. You want your heart to feel connected as well as your mind and pocketbook.

If you don’t feel free to ask these questions, look into why you are feeling that way. Is there something blocking you? Do you feel fear or guilt around work? Do you not feel deserving of more than a paycheck?

Just as a reminder for whoever needs to hear this: you have permission to take care of your emotional, mental, and physical needs in every space you are in. You have permission to have boundaries with anything that is unhealthy.

You can question your work and want more for your life. You are the creator of your story and your future.

The Devil card is all about freedom and boundaries. This card comes up frequently, so I know it is an important message we need to hear.

It comes up when we need to examine our habits. It asks us if we are happy with our current patterns and if we are making healthy decisions.

The Devil wants us to feel fully alive. When you are stuck in a pattern or behavior that isn’t good for you, you will not feel energized. You will start to feel like you are simply going through the motions of life and not really living it.

Ask yourself if you are stuck in any unhealthy patterns, especially at work. Look at what you do to manage stress. See if your habits enrich your life or if they steal from it.

The 8 of Pentacles and The Devil card are calling us to seek clarity in what we need to change. They want us to feel balanced in our actions and free in our choices.

Let the Full Moon and the energy of the cards support you this week. They are guiding you to a deeper and more abundant place.
