7 Signs You Are A Healer In A World Full Of Pain

There are people in this world who are healers who are unaware of their gifts. If you show these signs, you may be one of these people.

There are certain people in the world who are natural healers. They gravitate to those who are wounded and their very presence helps to soothe and heal others. While there are some people who use their healing gifts as a profession, there are many others who are healers and do not know it. Below are 7 signs that you may be a healer.

1) You work in or are drawn to a healing profession

Many people who are healers naturally gravitate towards healing professions. If you are a healer, you may be a doctor, nurse, psychologist, or social worker. Even if your career is not necessarily considered a healing profession, you may find yourself in a specialty that involves taking care of others. For example, if you are a lawyer, you might be drawn to family law, or if you are a teacher, you may work in special education.

No matter what job you do, you may find that coworkers often tell you their troubles, and people come to you for emotional support. If you are a healer, you will often know just the right thing to say to someone at the right time to make them feel better. There may be times in which you do not even know what it was that you said that helped so much.

2) You take in strays

If you are a healer, you may find that you take in strays. You might literally take in stray dogs and cats, or you might also take in strays on a figurative level. For example, having lunch with someone who always sits alone, or befriending someone that no one else seems to like.

You might also rescue wounded wild animals, like birds or squirrels that you come across. Or perhaps you might raise a baby animal that has lost its mother.

Healers are naturally drawn to those who need them, so if you have done any of these things, particularly if you have done any of them often, this could be a sign that you are a healer.

3) You are uncomfortable in social situations

Many healers are empathic. They pick up on the emotions of others. This can make social situations uncomfortable. If you avoid parties or social gatherings, it could be because you are an empathic healer, and you struggle with keeping out the emotions of others.

You may also find yourself exhausted after being with people for extended periods of time. This could be because you have been unconsciously shielding yourself, and this shielding takes energy.

If you are a healer, you will find it particularly hard to be in situations in which there has been anger or conflict. You will be able to feel it in the air, and it can cause almost physical discomfort.

4) You are a peacemaker

Many people who are healers find themselves being peacemakers in their family or social group. Healers have a difficult time around conflict, and they have a natural ability to find ways to resolve such conflict.

If you are a healer, you may find that you instinctively know what to do or say in tense situations. You might be able to sense what each person involved in the conflict needs and to help them talk with each other.

5) You have trouble saying no to those in need

Healers instinctively respond to those who are in need. If someone needs help, you may find it hard to say no, even if it means that you are draining yourself in the process. This can lead to your being taken advantage of by others, and it can also lead to your draining yourself leaving nothing to more for you to give.

If this is the case for you, even if you are a healer, you may need to be careful to watch out for your own needs and pay attention to your own limitations. If you deplete yourself too much, you will be ineffective in caring for others.

6) There are healers in your family

Healing gifts run in families, and if you have one or more than one family member who is a healer, you may be one also. Not all healers recognize their gifts, so you could have a family member who is one without knowing it. Even having family members with other spiritual or psychic gifts. If so, the family member will may have the signs discussed above.

Do you have one or more family members in a healing profession, or who have taken on specialties that gravitate towards helping others? Is there someone in your family who has difficulty in social situations? Perhaps there is someone you always go to for help or who is able to bring about peace when other family members are in conflict.

If there is someone like that in your family, and if you feel a close connection to that family member, it could be that you are a healer as well.

7) People seem to get better when they are around you

One of the clearest signs that you are a healer is if people seem to get better when they are around you. This could mean that they get physically better. You may find that people heal from illnesses or injury faster when you are around. People may tell you that you have a soothing presence and that they feel restful when around you.

You may also find that people around you tend to recover from non-physical difficulties as well. They may recover from addictions, or get themselves on the right track. They may reconcile with others with whom they have had long standing conflicts or ruptures. People who are depressed might get through their depression more quickly and easily. People who are lost may find their way and their path in life.

All of these things might happen whether or not you have done anything specific to help. If you are a healer, your very presence may be what has made the difference.
