When you close your eyes do you feel at home within yourself? Do you feel a peace in where you are and who you are? Do you feel an ease wash over you when you simply allow yourself to be?
Feeling at home within yourself is one of the most powerful things we can do. It leaves us with a feeling of belonging, security, love, and comfort, no matter what is happening around us.
While we may find comfort in the brick walls of our home, the true feeling of home is one that emanates from within; it is the feeling that comes from being at peace with ourselves, and this is what the 2019 Cancer Season will be guiding us to achieve.
Cancer Season begins on June 21st, the same day as the Solstice. The Solstice brings the changing of the seasons, but it is also the day when the Sun “stands still” and we too must do the same.

We too need to find that stillness within and watch and observe the shift in energy and how it directs us as we reach the midway point of the year.
The Solstice is our marker for the start of a new season, and the last half of the calendar year. It is a time where we can check in with ourselves and figure out if we are heading in the direction that we wish to be.
Before we can move ahead however, Cancer Season is going to be guiding us to pause and ensure that whatever direction we take is one that makes us feel at home.
Take a moment now to think about 5 things that make you feel at home. What helps you to return to the depths of your soul and the place of comfort that lives within? They can be activities, certain sights or smells, foods; there is no limit to what you can choose.
Once you have your list, make it your priority to incorporate these things into your life under this Cancer Season. Make it a priority to invite a feeling of being comfortable in your own skin, whatever that may look like for you.
When you are at home within yourself or comfortable in your own skin, it allows you to be both open and protected at the same time. It allows you to feel guarded and protected so you can go out into the world and achieve all you can, but also soft and open to the flow and beauty of life.
Many of us learn over the years that feeling safe and secure within ourselves requires a lot of armor and protection. While this is sometimes true, it can also leave us feeling heavy and block us from opening to love, to opportunities, and to the path of purpose.
Many also learn that staying open and giving and giving is the right way to achieve security and comfort. Walking this path can lead you to feel depleted and results in you taking on the energy of others. It can also set up co-dependent behaviors that can make achieving a healthy relationship difficult.
Being open to others and to the world, yet protected and safe is about traveling beyond these two states to a place where they become one and the same.
This is a journey of self-love and the more you practice it, the more you love yourself, the more you will find yourself feeling strong, protected, and open to the adventure and possibilities the Universe brings.
You are not a mistake. You are not lagging behind. You are not doing anything wrong. You are worthy. You are worthy of love, but more importantly, you are worthy of your own love. You deserve it. You have earned it, no matter what you have done, or how you feel about yourself, you have earned your love.
While being in this strong, open, self-loving state is a great state to be in, it is also important to recognize that being here all the time is not always possible.
Life is always throwing us off-balance and bringing us events to challenge how strong and open we can be. We are not always going to get it right and the journey is not always easy, but under Cancer Season 2019, you will be supported.
Cancer Season is also a time of year when the Sun aligns with the fixed star Sirius. Sirius is believed to be the gateway to the heavens and to higher realms. The ancients considered it our Spiritual Sun, and the home to beings that are wiser, more intelligent, and more conscious.
When the Sun is aligned with Sirius, we are all blessed with the opportunity to raise our vibration, access higher realms, and breathe into a higher level of oneness and unconditional love.
Cancer Season wants to see us return to ourselves; it wants us to work on finding comfort and security within ourselves, it wants us to have a safe place we can always go, no matter what is going on around us or even within us.
