The Hierophant and The Devil
This will be a great week for clarity and communication. Mercury is going direct and there is a Leo Black Super New Moon on July 31st/August 1st.
We may have felt some tension these past few weeks. The cards showed us our mental blocks and lack of direction.
But with the Hierophant and the Devil card we will getting clear messages and support on what to do and where to go next.
The Hierophant (or High Priest) is the fifth card in the major arcana. This card centers around matters of spirituality, religion, and morality.
The card connects with teachers and wisdom. It is full of academic and spiritual knowledge. It speaks to our desire for a mentor.
We are part of a long evolution of creatures who have walked this Earth. We do not have to reinvent the wheel or relearn every lesson ourselves.
So much wisdom has been acquired and the Hierophant is here to tell us to learn from those that have gone before us. Have faith in their words and experiences.
To be open to a teacher you must first ask for one. Say it out loud, write it down, whisper it to a tree. However you do it, let the Universe know you are ready.
Over the past few months, I have been seeing black feathers everywhere. I am not usually someone who receives or even sees traditional signs, but I feel like there is a message to me in these feathers.
Folks have shared that feathers usually point to someone who has passed watching down and guiding you. I hope this is the case as I am currently navigating through some career changes and other big life moments.
It would be so wonderful to know that my dad, who passed away when I was little, was watching over me at this time.
The Hierophant card points to my feather experience and all nudges from the Universe in our lives.
It is the card of guidance. It is all about giving us messages on how to grow spiritually and how to tap into our personal energy flow.
The Hierophant can give us signs in the form of a mentor, reoccurring symbols, a book, or a quote. Look out for the wisdom you need in order to know what direction is next.
Messages will be all around as we move about through our world. Be open to the signs and record what you see. Try not to be skeptical and listen to what these symbols are sharing with you.
The Devil cards is also part of our guidance this week. It comes up when we need to examine our habits. It asks us if we are happy with our current patterns and if we are making healthy decisions.
Are you doing things that once made you feel good but now feel like an unhealthy coping mechanism? Or on the flip side, are you not doing things that feel good but instead only doing what others would want you to do?
The Devil card points to two sides of the coin, overdoing pleasure or overdoing perfection. If we are overdoing pleasure, we can start to feel like a slave to it. We avoid healthier activities and instead choose fast fixes. We might even be struggling with an addiction to something.
The Devil wants us to feel fully alive. When you are stuck in a pattern or behavior that isn’t good for you, you do not feel energized. You start to feel like you are simply going through the motions of life and not really living it.
Ask yourself if you are stuck in any unhealthy patterns. Look at what you do to manage stress. See if your habits enrich your life or if they steal from it.
If we are on the flip side, overdoing perfection, we might not have much pleasure in our life at all. We might be so focused on doing what others want, that we make little time for ourselves.
We could be hyper-focused on living by the book that we don’t allow ourselves to do what feels good. We want to achieve all our goals and make our loved ones proud but we might be letting our personal needs fall by the wayside.
The Hierophant and The Devil card are calling us to seek clarity in what we need to change in this moment. They want us to feel balanced in our actions and free in our choices.
They are pushing us to a more deeply connected life that is lived in accordance to our desires and values. The messages will be very clear this week and we feel like we are on the right path.
So keep your mind open and your eyes sharp as the Universe guides you to a place of power.
